In a press conference on Monday, Ganguly had stated that the CAC will have a detailed chat with Kohli once he is back from the West Indies as he needs to understand how coaches operate. The CAC interviewed five candidates for the post of head coach and at the end of it said that they needed more time to come to a final decision. Tendulkar joined in through video conference.
The fresh delay in the appointment of a coach comes 47 days after the BCCI invited applications for the role. "What we have decided is that we will hold on for the time being (on) the announcement of the coach.

We need to talk to a few more players, especially the captain, and then make an announcement because we feel that there is no hurry at the moment," Ganguly said, adding that the new coach would be given a contract till the 2019 World Cup.

2. This is not the first-time Amarnath pilgrims have been attacked. In July 2001, a militant hurled two grenades at a camp and later opened fire near the Amarnath shrine killing nearly 13 people. The next year, even though nearly 15,000 security personnel and policemen were deployed to offer protection to the pilgrims, terrorists killed eight pilgrims and injured 30 in an attack on the Nunwan camp on the way to the Amarnath shrine.

3. This latest attack on Monday, coming as it did on the first day of "shravan" and associated with the Hindu god Shiva who is central to the pilgrimage - added to the outrage over the killings. Police sources said the terrorists initially attacked a police bunker at Batengoo. The police returned the fire. It was after this that the bus was attacked. Initial reports said the bus was not registered with the Amarnath shrine board and was travelling after permitted hours and therefore without adequate security.

Ganguly and Laxman will be present at the headquarters of the BCCI while Tendulkar, the third member, will be joining his colleagues on Skype from the United Kingdom. Ganguly, speaking to TIMES NOW, stated that the announcement of India's new coach will be made by today evening (10th July).

CAC will finalise the new India coach from seven applicants who have applied for the post and former India players Ravi Shastri and Virender Sehwag and Australian Tom Moody are the front-runners for the job. Speaking to channel, Shastri, had said that he hopes there won't be any petty issues at the last minute.

Shastri, who had earlier served as the Team Director for the Indian cricket team before Anil Kumble became the coach, had decided not to apply for the position this time after the way he was "treated" last year. He agreed to send across his CV to the CAC after Tendulkar convinced him to do so and even since the former India international threw his hat in the ring, he has been the favourite to get the job, owing to his cordial relationship with current India captain Virat Kohli.

Former coach Kumble had stepped down amid controversial circumstances after a widely-speculated feud with Kohli, marking a bitter end to a highly successful tenure. Kumble's decision comes in the wake of reports claiming rifts between him and Kohli, and just two days after India's embarrassing loss to Pakistan in the Champions Trophy final. It was only the CAC which had picked Kumble as the coach last year.

The team did well under Kumble in the past 12 months, winning Test series in the West Indies (2-0) before winning at home against New Zealand (3-0), England (4-0), Bangladesh (1- 0) and Australia (2-1).

Alka then appealed to a higher court at Sangrur for some relief, but the additional session's court upheld the lower court's decision. Reportedly, the actress and her mother are currently in Sangrur district jail.
